Las Vegas/Henderson singers and songwriters - meet with local people who make music! All singers, songwriters, poets and artists in general are welcome! Please use this group to post upcoming events, especially those that feature local artists, singers and songwriters. We also meet at Sam Ash on Maryland Parkway for songwriter's workshop events. We discuss techniques, share resources, critique songs, and occasionally have guest speakers. Join us if you are interested in collaboration, critique or networking and participating in songwriter showcases.  The time has come for someone else to step up and take the coordinator postion.

The new home of Songwriters Circle - Las Vegas and Henderson
Hello,
Thanks for coming to the new home of Songwriters Circle. The plan is to
continue to have a community of people who want to participate in writing and
making music.
Songwriters Circle on the Meetup site is now closed. Grouply.com and
GroupSpaces.com are both becoming new homes to many former Meetup.com groups.
While there may be a few things missing, there are also some great new features.
If you had signed up for a Songwriters Circle event on Meetup, please sign up
for the same event here so I can email you any news, changes, reminders.

It's not a scam, but it's not registered copyright as in "registered with the
copyright office". It offers you minimal protection, which for some might
seem better than none.MFC started back when they were debating the US gov. was
debating the new copyright amendments. In that debate was something about
copyright registration becoming a private business, rather than having it run
the way the copyright office currently is set up. Costs would be per image (as
it is in Canada) rather than per disc full of images. At that point there were
some folks thinking ahead and setting up copyright registration "companies" that
would apply to be granted status when this was passed, which as far as I know,
it never was.
MyFreeCopyright is helpful in that it lets people viewing your work know that
you are aware of copyright laws and that the image is copyright protected. You
don't need MFC to have copyright to your work. Registration in the
copyright office is required when you file a lawsuit though – at least if you
want to recoup as much money as you can.

I use a few different web browsers but mostly Firefox and Google Chrome. Firefox is my usual favorite and I have quite a few Firefox add-ons including Ad Block+, Ghostery and NoScript.
For some reason, while Ad Block and Ghostery work fine with this Grouply site, NoScript does not and I disabled it (NoScript could be annoying anyway, so no big loss.) With NoScript enabled in Firefox, javascript stopped functioning in Grouply even though the web site was supposedly "white listed". I could not even see the login button on the login screen.
Just a tip for members having some problems. BTW, none of the other browsers I tested had a problem with this site.
